If it was on my place the buck would run like heck and coyote would just go about his day. If it were on my Mule Deer lease in West Texas the coyote would be running after the buck.

Coyotes always die in the moral to my stories since they spook the deer. grin The coyote I killed in Dec that spooked the deer that evening was found at daylight by the Cara Cara and vultures, they keep a close watch on my place.

I've only posted a few below, but I got lots of pics this year of yotes and deer somewhat tolerating each other at one of my feeders. Wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it. loco confused2

I shot a yote with my bow once, and it took me about five minutes to find him. I slung him over my shoulder and the doggone buzzards followed me the quarter mile back to the truck. walking

Maybe the yotes at my places have just been shrimps, but I see the deer hold their ground around them a lot. Have seen does chase them off.

If that first pic was on my place, that picture would have been taken shortly before I shot that yote.

I did not have anytime to take pics before I shot this one...but a lot of time after. Only time I give them a pass is if I have a really good buck that I do not want to educate.

i typically dont get to many coyote photos "alive" i promise roflmao
but i am with ya on the education program ...hate to smack one with a buck standing 40 yards in front of me
i saw a monster of a coyote the other day standing inside a high fence ranch out by ranger
thought it looked part something else it was so big
wanted to get a photo ....but it wasn't holding still for none of that

I'll clear a feeder or road full of deer when a coyote shows up..if it has not cleared the deer already. Here a coyote will clear an area. In La Salle County I have had deer not pay any attention, run at the sight of a yote or chase a yote all on the same ranch.

I am impressed at how fast a buzzard can find a dead animal. We have used them and cara caras to help us find deer, they are as quick as a blood hound. You know that "wait thirty minutes after a shot to track an animal" idea, we have had times in South Texas that a deer would not have eyes and a backside if you waited that long. We have had to race them to a dead animal before.

I watched a group of does run a wild cat (not a bobcat) away from a feeder last week. The does really did not like that cat. For some reason the cat would try to get to the feeder and about four of the does what gather up and chase and stomp at the cat. They finally had enough of the cat and chased it about fifty yards into the woods. I was hoping to get to see a kitty stomping but the cat stayed clear. The bucks didn't give a rip about the cat.
