As far as jumps a lot will depend on the ranch as well as a lot of other factors. Management practices on what and how they cull numbers will effect scores greatly also on some ranches. I have seen yearling bucks that scored in the 100 range or more that made great jumps at 2 but that would look good on paper since they were bigger at 1. Seen bucks make a huge jumps at any age class. Seems that if the buck has good genetics and good groceries then they make really big jumps from 2 to 3 yrs of age. Biggest jump in total inches I have see was a 3 yr old that jumped 60+" at 4 yrs of age.
Here are 4 yrs of the same buck. I do not know what he was as a yearling buck but I can guarantee you he had 6 or more points since all bucks with less than 6 were shot.
2 yr old
3 yr old 160 more or less guess on score
4 yr old 200 guess on score since I found one shed that year
5 yr old and he grossed just over 240 that year when he was killed
