I have a DD and have been using her on everything, we live in South Texas so I don't often have to worry about cold, but when duck hunting, how much cold can she take? I took her over xmas and the air temp was around 40F, she seemed to do fine. I bought a 3m insulated vest for her also. This weekend the weather is supposed to be near 32F. On a 1/2acre pond is that too cold? She lives inside the house, but the cold has not bothered her yet. Just wondering what everyone's opinion is on this?

I hunt a smooth hair vizsla, and 32 would not be to cold for him. I think your DD would be just fine. I just put a vest on him, and he only goes in the water for retrieves. When its been in the 20s I throw one of my jackets over him.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.
