Wanted to know if anyone has a general idea on how far hogs travel. I ask this because we seem to only see hogs on our ranch about every 5-6 weeks. They hit the feeder for a night or two and then we see no signs of them again. I have put up a green light and since that went up ZERO pigs have hit the feeder. We have noticed that there are two different packs of them.

This year has been weird for us to with hogs, almost exact same thing happening to us. Ours come for 3-4 days then leave for couple weeks then same thing and its the same two or three groups of hogs!

I think they have more to eat this year than normal and are not hitting feeders as frequently! I have no real answer though.

Depending on hunting pressure and available food sources some can range from a couple hundred acres to a couple of thousand. So around 2-3 miles. Maybe even more in some cases

I have been told by a wildlife biologist that hogs will sometimes have a 20-30 mile circle that they make. They have had an abundance of acorns this past fall so the feeders may be way down their list of food sources.

Right, they can roam large areas and are not tied to specific territories. They may stay localized if conditions are good, or they may go away for a while.

I had a particular hog that apparently had about a 1 week circuit for a while, showing up every 6-9 days. Still haven't gotten him, though the cycle is more irregular now.

FYI, packs or groups of hogs are called sounders. They are nomadic. I don't know about 20 or 30 miles, but they certainly roam more than 2-3 miles.
