I've seen this guy a few times this year and he just looked a little young. Age?

I agree with your decision to pass and also agree he is a young deer.

I am in Hill county, outside of Whitney. We don't get very big deer out here but luckily all of the land around me is no longer for lease. I am hoping to be able to talk the other landowners to let me lease their land and get a few protein feeders up.

I saw a very nice 10 point (4.5-5.5 years old 120") in Nov had him at 20 yards, got ready to draw my bow and some wild dogs came out of the woods and ran him off smirk got another picture of him a few weeks back but he appeared to have broken his main beam right after his G1.

Hoping to have a few options on shooters next year. Lots of 1.5-2.5 year old bucks running around. I need to figure out how to keep water down by the feeder/food plot since the drought has out stock tanks drying up.

Nice young buck. You did good letting him go. As for the "wild dogs", if you know they are wild you need to be pro-active in eliminating them. You might mention to the neighbors your concern. It seems lots of folks let their dogs run loose in the country. I do, but they stay close to camp.
