This is on a ranch in South Texas. We didn't buy him, bring him in, or load him up with protein. We are high fenced and we let most of our deer age as long as possible and just practice basic management and culling. We recently reduced our deer numbers dramatically which has really helped more than anything along with timely rain this year! We have realized more deer isn't necessarily as good as fewer but better healthy deer.

That smaller buck is a nice management buck! About 10 years ago the mgmt. buck was our trophy size deer. Things are looking up.
