Which would be a better hog round, and why? Lots of things I read say that there really isn't a lot of difference, but I wanted to hear from the folks that have used both and actually know. Thanks in advance.

7.62x39 will push the same weight bullet 300-400fps faster than 300AAC. But, there are more types and weights of bullets available for 300aac since it uses .308 bullets. Hard to find much of anything for hunting outside of the 123-125gr bullets for 7.62x39.

I am a blackout fan, anything from 110 grain to 220 OTC,runs in a AR, easy to find brass, does about 85% of everything a 7.62x39 will do...

Yeah, I agree with both of the above and would summarize it like this -- what the x39 does it does a bit better than the BO, but it doesn't do nearly as many things.
If we're talking about an AR upper, I think the x39 magazines are an utter abortion, while the BO uses standard .223 mags at full capacity.

For that matter, a fmj to the brain of a pig is pretty deadly too.

As a hand loader, I Really wish more companies would make varying weights of bullets in .310...

Amen! Though I really like the .311 150 & 180gr Sierra ProHunters in both my SKS & 91/30, but they have been hard to come by lately. For factory loads in my Yugo SKS, 154gr soft points have been a hog hunting staple for both head and body shots, and performance has been quite good with both. Also the accuracy is dramatically improved over 12x bullets. May not be an issue in an AR or bolt gun. -ww

Tula ammo makes a 154gr soft-point for 7.62x39. I think I had some 160gr Cabelas Herters brand ammo in the past as well.

Like mentioned before, either is fine for pigs. Cheaper ammo in the Russian caliber. More bullet options in the 300blk, including subs if shooting suppressed.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

300 blk if I have to choose, but unless you're using a suppressor, it's a pointless round to use.

Do you reload? Any plans to use it for something like deer hunting or long range work?

6.8 SPCII is a fine hog round out of an AR.

I only ask because my next upper is either the 300BO or the X39, and I'm leaning X39 because of ammo availability. Because it's biggest benefit is being about to cycle subsonic rounds. If you are shooting supersonic rounds there's a lot better options than the blackout. Like .308 or 6.8 or the x39
