Sure you can! With a head/neck shot..... At 5 yards... On a piglet
Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.

People hunt with 9mm pistols and so a carbine should be better, but it really would not be a very good choice unless you can really pick a nice CNS shot, such as into the brain.

Ouch...tough crowd. Always better to be safe than to be sorry, and most 9mm ammo meant for two legged critters will just piss off the larger pigs.
Get a good solid FMJ or hardnose bullet. Find a hot load. Make sure you test how they feed thru the rifle. Practice shooting at a 20oz pop bottle laid on its side. This is about the size of the ear hole and spine area you will have to shoot for. If this is the only rifle you have to shoot hogs, then this is what you will have to learn to use. I would think you would need to keep shots in the 50 yds and less range.

A hog from my place last year took 10ea 9mm 115gr FMJ's to the face at 2-3 feet away and he was still trying to get to me. He had already been shot twice with a 30-06 and I thought he was dead. I walked up to him with my iphone out trying to snap a pic. When I got about 2 feet away from his hind end, he jumped up and came at me. I drew on him pretty fast and dumped the entire clip in his face. Lucky for me his back legs didn't work anymore or else he would have probably got me. I still had to shoot him twice behind the ear to finish him off. Dang hog cost me a few $ in ammo and a new pair of boxers that day.

I would not care to hunt hogs with a 9mm. In my opinion, it's just not enough gun. On a regular basis, I use a HiPoint 45 caliber carbine and either cast 200 grain solids or Gold Dot 230 HP's. Here's one of the HP's I recovered. To put my views in perspective, most of my hog shots are 50 yards or less, and the hogs I encounter here in Central Texas are rarely more than 150 pounds. I carry a 1911 in 45ACP with the same Gold Dots in it for back up.

Nice to know a 30-06 isn't a good hog caliber.
