On Christmas Eve I let my two 11 month old Brittnies out to run. They usually ran around the ranch for about 30 minutes and came back. Well they never came back. We've looked everywhere, they were tagged and even though I live 2 miles from town there is no way nobody has seen them. Offered 500.00 reward ran ads, talked to all of the neighboring land owners and hunters.
I truly believe someone stopped and picked them up. They would come to anyone.
Anyway if anyone hunting in the Albany area sees one of them let me know. Both females, one is black and white and one is orange and white.
These dogs are trained and have been pointing birds all season.

Hate to ask but do you have a lot of coyotes in your area?

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

It would be hard for me to give up on my dogs.
I know some are never found, but others are returned months later.
Have you contacted the Brittany rescues, most have facebook, and word gets shared pretty fast? There is also a Lost dogs of Texas.

We have them all over local face book pages but haven't put anything on Britney rescue. I'll try that. Even ran a 1/4 page ad in the local papers with a big reward. I really think some one picked them up.
Hopefully someone will see them. There have been a few instances in the past few years out here when people stopped and whistled up bird dogs and took off with them. A couple have been caught doing it. One is local and the GW and sheriff have been keeping an eye on him but nothing.

Sad to hear there are people that would do that to other people's dogs. Hope you find the dogs and if anyone is responsible for it, them as well.

I know of 2 vizslas in different states, that were pick up just as you described.
Both were helped return home because of social media. One was 2400 miles away from where it was picked up by a truck driver. The other one they turned loose, because they did not want to be caught with the dog.
Pm me your information and pics of the dogs, and I'll post them to some of the groups I'm a member of. Its Vizlsa, and gundog groups but they do share with others.

A family friend had a golden lab that got 'borrowed' for hunting season a few times. The first time they couldn't figure out how he got out of the yard and then we're even more stumped as to how he got back in the yard four months later looking leaner and toned up. They never figured out who it was but they always knew the dog would be back.

No luck. We are now running ads on a few state and national vet watch lists.
It really makes me sick, they were great dogs and one of them was a gem of a hunter.
I still need to get the pics from my daughter and put them up on here.
I have been traveling so much since the 3rd that I have had to enlist her to help with the search.

I follow several rescue groups on facebook. Have you created a link or anything there? I'd be happy to try and share with all the sites I know, try to get it out as far as possible.
