Good job pink on the mangy yote and pig; what is that weapon of death that you're wielding there, a .30-.30 topped with a Redfield or .45-.70?

Question Pink, how wet are the pastures out there as I'm not running 4x4? Most of my roads are more pasture lane like with some grass on them.

It's a deadly killing machine. Lol. My great uncle gave it to me when I was a kid and it's been a good one! 30-30. Broke my heart last year when I had to replace the original scope, and added a Redfield Revenge 4-Plex. I'm happy with it now that it has taken a few
Wow the ice and sleet and rain has created a mess!! Been slipping in 4 wheel drive for days smile

Nice job Pink! Every now and then will pull out the Marlin 30AS for old times sake. Got my first deer with that rifle, iron sights and all.

This dude showed up early morning X-Mas. Hopefully he made it through the season and I'd like to see him next season.

7A, I did no good yesterday, pretty windy in the morning with the front coming through and shut down the afternoon hunt around 3:30 to hear the Cowboy game on radio driving home. Hard hunting year. Some decent ones starting come back in to feeders, mostly at night the past 2-3 weeks with the colder temperatures. The wheat foodplot had tons of tracks throughout the year but mostly hit at night apparently. Hoping for more fruitful next year...

Yeah- rough year for me too- I def put in the hours in the blind and hiking around. Unfortunately our deer were creatures of the night- I got skunked.
I guess that is hunting-

Hi guys,
Saw more deer on the way to the lease than on the lease.
Is the Graham young county area known for nocturnal deer?

Almost all of our trail cam photos were at night.

They certainly seemed to go nocturnal earlier this than in years past. Lat year at the ed of the season we'd see 8-10 does almost every evening, this year we saw the same numbers but on the cameras at night. Just a weird year. I rarely hunt the spike doe add on but I might this year, just not big on gutting does that were bred a couple of months ago. It's time to fill the protein feeder though so I might go sit for a spike if it looks like a good day for it. We're grinding meat this coming weekend anyway.

Yup, bow season is usually a good time of year to try and harvest a mature one as well as up to about Thanksgiving. My history has proven that after Thanksgiving, the deer go very nocturnal out that way.

7A, fill up that protein feeder, I'm starting to get nightly mature buck activity at mine for the past 2-3 weeks.

It's on the list for the next few weeks will try to get it done this weekend. I'm convinced that as small as my place is we see the numbers that we do because of the 2k food plot I invest in. Lord knows the real ones all died within weeks of popping due to the lack of rain.

Back at it trying to get a doe for the freezer. Cold and windy saw 4 doe at about 5.45. Boy they had their antennas up as the were downwind of me about 200 yds. They came to a corned road and the shooter I wanted never hit the corn but went right to the cover. The other 3 busted me after about 3-4 minutes. Never got the gun up. Good to have some action.

On another note, saw another yote at 4.30. They are thick. 5 straight sits I've seen one. Never gave me a shot.
Back at it thru Sun am.

Not much stirring on a perfect light wind cold morning. Deer were moving at 6am as I saw 6 deer south of my place including a mature bodied buck. Did not get a look at his headgear but his body and square head told me he was 4.5 or older. May be time to shoot some ducks.
