I hope to buy another top of the line scope...if I do I'm pretty sure it'll be a nightforce.

Yes, they are worth the $. I have them on my bench rigs and I don't have any complaints. I'd like to have a new March 10-60x but their warranty isn't as good as NF and the one time I needed NF they took dang good care of me. So I'll stick with them.

Interesting thread. On my precision rifles, I shoot only 1 scope- Nightforce. It fits how I shoot to a T. I prefer the 2nd focal plane scopes anyway. And that's a debate for another topic. But if you want a freakin' awesome scope that tracks true, good glass, has a very fine reticle to shoot small targets, NF is it. I have owned 5 of them at some point, and still have 2 of them mounted on my rifles, and am about to buy a third one. I have shot with and seen many of the high end scopes. For the money, NF is tops. The only other scope that I would consider using would be a Schmit & Bender mil/mil 5-25. But I can buy 2 NF scopes for only 1 of them. So, is NF worth the money, um, yes, and then some.

Chad said it all including second focal plane but that's a topic for another day. I also like the fine crosshairs,

Thanks guys for the responses so far.
I am having a 6.5 creed build by Derrick. I want it to be my go to rifle. Hunting mainly with the opportunity to shoot beyond 500. I am also wanting to get into some Long range shooting hopefully up to 1000 yards. I would like to do some matches as we'll. You're going to have some fun. Its a whole new sport shooting long range and a bunch of fun and challenge. I have two Nightforces, but both SFP, so I've gotten used to the FFP, the SFP is a different game, you can definitely get used to it, but I shoot mine only on high power and I never change them, being SFP I don't need POI shifts. I do have a 6.5 Creedmoor also, a team DPMS built gun I got from one of the shooters from the PRS series, but damn its heavy lol, so I use a 6mm BRX for long range, whether shooting groups at 800 yards or at deer.

All the above scopes...leupold, bushnell, swfa, s&b, night force will all do the job and nowadays at the top tier level as far as features...it's becoming a wash... What is not a wash is resell value...and this ought to be at least part of the dertiming factor...in that regard, night force is an excellent investment

lots of choices ( and NF is definitely top tier), as well as theories for buying ..... by once cry once, go budget and up grade later........... I've done and tried all of them
match rifle S&B and you'll never look back hunting rifles Bushnell LRHS....
if one has to serve dual duty,,,,,, the Schmidt is worth every penny
now these are FFP, so...... add a grain of salt

I just ordered another NF scope today!! They are no longer making the MLR reticle, so I jumped on one of the last scopes that had the MLR reticle in it. 5.5-22x50mm .1 mil turrets with MLR reticle.

I ordered another as well but I got the Mil-R reticle(Is it different than MLR?) to give it a whirl. If it gets here by Friday will try to post some new scope /new 6.5Creedmoor pic's this week-end.

Yes. The Mil-R is different than the MLR. The Mil-R has a gap or void at the edges of the cross hair. Plus, the cross hair is too wide with no reference to a half mil, or .5 mil, near the center, only the gap. The MLR is a simple mil reticle with .5 increments. They are phasing out the MLR and replacing it with other reticles. IMO, they are taking away the most practical and usable reticle, the MLR. So I am buying my scope now before it's too late. I got the 5.5-22x50mm, even though I wanted the 56mm. MLR Mil-R

Yup. Of those two I like the MLR better as well.
Having .1 or .2 increments on the edges is handy for zeroing and (in the rare occasion) ranging, but I wouldn't want the seperate .1 Mil graph 4 o'clock from the reticle.

I use the IHR reticle on my 22 Creedmoor so I kinda like the floating cross hair in the middle although like Fireman I could do without measuring reticle cluttering up things. I need those numbered mil's though to help keep me straight.... you know just like when painting by numbers.
