Shot it about 15 minutes ago. Dropped it right where I shot it. Not moving at all. How long should I wait before going to check it out? Also temperature is in the low 40's how long do I have to field dress it? I'm a novice at this.

its most likely done ....but ...
approach it carefully and look to see if the chest is moving before you touch it
second tag it and fill out the back of your license BEFORE you move it
next the party is over ...time to clean it roflmao

Had a doe and either a fawn or a younger doe come up to the feeder with the buck on the ground. Then they headed towards me. Got within 30 yds of me.

Fail safe way to ground check it is to approach from behind and touch its eye with the end of your barrel. If the eye doesn't twitch or blink, it's 99.9% dead. Congrats and get some pics posted up!

Realistically, you've got a couple hours before you truly have to worry about getting it cleaned, get it back to camp, have some breakfast, and get to work. It's cold out there. It's basically in a cooler right now. Wouldn't hurt to gut it in the field though.
