I have only shot 1 before this one in 2000. Didn't save it as I was new to hunting and didn't really know how few and far between these are for my area.

Went to a prairie dog town where the ranch manager said he has been seeing a nice badger. Went up there today and this dude was digging holes and tearing up land. He ran to a hole and immediately sat down and squatted his body down to recess himself in the hole.

I put the .223 below his neck and above his right shoulder and let the 55 gr ballistic tip eat.

He fell into a hole so we pulled him out.

He weighed 15 lbs AND is getting mounted!

Thanks guys. This is one animal I have been longing to get another crack at. This is only the 2nd badger I have seen on this ranch and it is 12 sections.

Nice badger!

When I used to trap I caught a big old badger one time. This sucker was huge and was sitting on about four foot pile of dirt when walked up on him. I wish I would have kept him along with several other nice animals I trapped. I sold a huge beautiful red fox and monster spotted bobcat that I regret selling,
