Just a heads up for those looking for a new predator load this year. I bought a box of HPR ammo to shoot through my little 223 bolt gun. My little 20" bull barreled Howa loves the stuff. I was surprised when I was looking at my drop @200 and seen it dropped 4 1/4" with a 100 yards zero. That's moving like at around 2450 fps. They advertise 3216 fps. I'm dying on the inside because it one holes 3 shot at 100 with a 9x nikon but I need the extra energy of a faster bullet to anchor a coyote. That being said a lower powered 22 would be great for fox and cat. Anyone else tried em?

That's strange, sounds like a very low mv for a 20" barrel with a 55 gr bullet. Most of the time the advertised mv on these type loads are with a 24-26" barrel if you read the fine print, so our shorter barrel ARs are usually slower, but I get 2800 and 3000 with moderate loads out of my 16 and 20" barrels w/ 55s.

But i guess actual drops don't lie. Did you chrono, and are you sure you used the right BC when figuring your MV?
