I use several trail cams across a variety of locations on my lease to try and get a feel for what we have walking around and good targets. So, when we see one we think is a good one to take, we save the trail cam picture and they try to match it up with an "on the ground hand camera" picture. Anyone else do this? Would love to see the 'before and after' pics.

Very nice buck.

Are you asking if once you ground check your buck do you try to position the deer to match the trail cam picture or just take a nice pic of the dead deer?

I did it backwards this year. Buddy called me to help him find a buck he shot. Nice 8 point was about 100 yards away around a tree. Helped him drag said buck another 100 yards through the woods to get him to a place to get him into the ranger. Looking at pics the next day to find the same buck on my camera the whole month of November.

Just take the picture of the specific (dead) deer that you have been hunting that you saw on the trail cam. We then put them up side-by-side on the "brag" cork board at the camp. Extra points for taking it with a bow. smile BTW, this is my 17 year old son in the picture. He has been bow hunting since he was 14, and has not picked up a rifle in two years. He has the bow bug just like his dad!
