Can anyone help me with a source for a Jewell or Timney trigger for a Tikka T3?

Jewell does not make on for the t3. To my knowledge timney does not either. Look up the JARD trigger assembly. My buddy has one and loves it. Adjusts from 12oz to 3lbs i think

Like they said (or what they meant), one of the best things about the T3's is they come with a great trigger. I like mine about as well as the timney 510 in my Rem 700.

You trying to go down below 2#?

The 2lb trigger sucks (my opinion). I did buy a varmint spring from Ernie the gunsmith (www.erniethegunsmith.com) and it's a great feeling trigger now. I didn't want to drop the cost of the Jard in this project and almost sold it. I'm happy now and revived this project.

So what. It's a good trigger. I do have a Timney in a Rem 700 action. I have not put Timney's in my two Tikkas because I see no need. I asked O.P. why, expecting a desire to go below 2 pounds.

JG, I have seen guys talking about adding a "Yo Dave" spring to get down to about 1.5#. Have you seen these?

Like I said it's still not a Jewell or Timney.

I have not. Judd told me he did his spring replacement in his Tikka .223 and loves it.

The type of shooting I do, 2 pounds is quite alright with me.

I have a fireman friend like you. He just loves spending money.

Also had an old salty Captain tell me years ago. Women like new chit! And that's just how it is. Just sayin.

How do you adjust a tikka factory trigger?

If the man wants to upgrade his trigger with a trigger designed to be ran low, that problem in your eyes?

Apparently

Loosen a jam nut, back off the sear screw. Get it where you want it, hold the screw, tighten the jam nut. If memory serves. And, if memory serves that's exactly like a Timney.

Oh that's a lot of work, I just turn a set screw with an Allen wrench on my Jewell. No disassembley required

Unfortantly looks like Jewell and timney don't support tikka so looks like you got to play with springs, loosen and tighten bolts etc.

You drink to slow. Your beer get hot often? Regardless why badger someone for wanting a trigger designed for lower pull weights. Like making fun of a guy for shooting a .27 or .25 caliber bullet, because it doesn't meet you 10,000 yard requirement

Never made fun. Was curious if he wanted to go below 2 pounds and make a Tikka into a BR rifle, which it will probably do a fine job of. Never badgered him at all.

You, however, jumped in and started all this. And never has this thread talked about distance, or bore diameter until you did. Don't start nuthin, won't be nuthin.

Just curious, why aren't you happy with the factory T3 trigger? Mine are light and very crisp though I don't know the actual weight poundage. I have another rifle with a Timney, and while it is a much better upgrade from that factory trigger, it isn't worth the $ nor do I think it is any bit superior to a T3 trigger IMO.
