Anyone ever used them..?? Was it a good discount..??Or just a marketing ploy..??

I used one on Monday. They gave me 10% off on a Browning BL-22.

We have three emplyee discount levels. The coupon is fr our basecamp level. Same discount employees get their first 2 years of employment. It is usually 25% off clothing and 10 to 15% off guns & ammo. Not a ploy because we have several items that have never been discounted.

Dont get mad about the Ploy....I shop there all the time..Just making sure it may be worth it.....It said it is valid on tractors as long as they are not over 50HP...Im looking at the 43h..My credit bureau couldnt get the paperwork done today and the sale went off when they closed...I noticed the coupon I had and was going to use it...

One more fact on the discount. It is off of regular prices and not sale prices. You will get the lower of the sale price or regular price with the discount.

I was in the waco cabelas and the guy helping me with binos said that employees can use/ borrow anything in the store pretty much.. Is that true

I was going to buy a tractor there until someone from corporate finally called me back about a question on the warranty that no one in the Fort Worth store could answer. My farm is a long long way from Cabelas and they said that I would have to bring it back to the store that I bought it at to have anything worked on. That if I had anything at all done locally, it would void the warranty completely. That was just not going to be workable for me. That was last Christmas season and I don't know if anything has changed or not on their policy.

That's the problem with buying a tractor from a place like that instead of a major tractor line.. Parts and service...

And I am not knocking Cabela's at all. Most of my guns and all my hunting clothes and equipment come from there, but they seemed to be about 10% higher on all their tractors than other folks. Now, on a $25,000 tractor thats another $2500.

Not true at all. Some vendors do bring in items for displays and there are sometimes items the store managers let employees borrow them to get better product knowledge......but, it isn't everything in the store. We have several programs in place to get our stuff in the hands of our employees, so they have better product knowledge. Overall training of store employees on gear is better than any other big box retailer in my opinion.

I don't work in the department that sells the tractors, so I am not an expert in them at all. I will say that we had a Christmas sale on the tractors and the prices posted were very close to our best employee price (5% above our cost). I don't have the ad in my hand right now, so I can't quote any prices.

Also, if you buy a tractor in one Cabela's store, you can get it repaired at any other Cabela's store(that has a shop/sells them). I am not sure about if they can be fixed at any other shops. I just texted a person in that department to get an answer. If they are available and answer, I will post it up soon.

I'll wait for you to get an answer. I'm not trying to spread untrues about Cabela's, I'm just stating what someone from corporate called and told me about a year ago. That I would have to bring it back to the store that I bought it at to have any work done on it.

Found out that you can bring it to any Cabela's store that services them, not just the one you bought it at.

The Cabela's tractors are TYM's which are excellent tractors but you can buy them from Red's in Granbury for a fraction of the Cabela's price. They aren't green or say Cabela's on them though.

I used it on a gun purchase yesterday and saved $150. The normal price was $1499, with the discount it was $1349 which equates to 10%.

when I asked about the warranty work on ATV'S, was told they have no one to do warranty, that turned me off on that.

The coupon is the real deal. I have used two and averaged about 10% savings with each. Cabelas branded items usually have the biggest discounts.

I ended up buying a tractor from Big Reds in Granbury. The absolute worse decision of my life. I went there to buy a new tractor but they convinced me to buy a reconditioned Mitsubishi one. I did and ended up having several problems and they stood behind none of them. 4 hours of using it and it quit. I took it back and they said some part failed. 4 weeks later, (4 weeks) they said it was ready and charged me for fixing it. Used it another 2 hours and water hose burst. Now that is a problem and could happen to anyone but when I looked at the hose, it just crumbled in my hand it was so old and rotten. 10 hours later and I blew a head gasket. This tractor is sitting my my field and I bought a new one from someone else. The reason I bought it, it was cheaper than others and I thought for a couple of 4 acre food plots a recondition tractor would work fine for me. Just my experience with Big Reds.

The wife and I use ours each year after Christmas. Couple of years ago we got a 1hp meat grinder, knocked off $200+ (about 35%). This year picked up $1100 (retail price) in hunting clothing and paid $450. Kinda confusing, some items were already being discounted, some were bargain cave, some off the rack. We look forward to it again next year.

They don't have anyone to do it on site. It dosnt mean its not registered and your warranty is not valid. You just have to take it to a dealership that handles warranty work for the company that made the tractor/ATV. I would assume at least... just like when anyone in Bryan/College station buys an MTD product from lowes, TSC etc they come to see me for warranty work.

Some require you to bring it to them and then they take it to the authorized dealer
