You don't need to delete your old one, just can't have it in the same place you downloaded the new one. So if you want to save previous versions, create a folder and put them in there and rename them something like xsight220.bin, xsight228.bin, etc. Then if for some reason you wanted to go back, can put them back to another folder that there is no bin files and rename them back to the xsight.bin.
Or if you do download them where there is another.bin file and it renames them (which, in a PC will ask if you want to overwrite existing file), you can overwrite or move file to the SD card and rename it if it is wrong or proceed if correct. Just have to remember that the file needs to be called xsight.bin on the SD card for it to work correctly.
And each time you put on the SD card, I would format it first so that it is empty.

Anyone tried if the X-Sight can handle exFAT instead of FAT32 ? FAT32 can only handle up to 4GB files and exFAT allows individual files larger than 4GB...

Yes, I believe I was using exFat on my newer card.

Just wanted to throw this out there. I updated two 5X scopes today and had some issues with the recording feature once I did. Tried all sorts of things from A-Z and finally decided to back up to the 200 firmware. It worked perfectly. So, the answer to the question of going backward in firmware level is yes.
In the end, I tried downloading 228 again and reinstalling from 200. It worked this time.

So guys, are we going to run one thread or two because I ain't posting twice. Do we call this one a wrap and move on to 228' probably wouldn't hurt to cross link in the first post of the newer thread that this thread is available for historical reference... See y'all in the other thread

I came here to read about the x-sight and I'd like to thank everyone for the input. it took me 3 hours to read this topic but it was worth it. I may have a chance to get a used 5-18 for $500. I think I'll take it if the mount is straight And hope for the best on updates.

Thanks to all the guys here on the post and Deerguy I've got a 3-12 on order. We'll see how it all works out. I bought a Bushnell Equinox Z for scanning. It worked one night and the next it wouldn't progress past the splash screen and couldn't turn it off without removing the batteries. Having it replaced. Hopeing for the best on both counts.

Well, it didn't take much testing to find out in the daytime the unit wouldn't focus clearly for anything. Video was so so, I looked at it all just to ensure the camera was seeing what I was seeing. Twice the screen would freeze with a last image and I'd have to turn the unit off to clear it. Going back and we'll see what improvements are made. If bushnell would make a scope similar to their Equinox Z monocular I'd buy it in a second.

See y'all in the other thread I'm locking this one. FYI, anyone using an alias account to troll these threads or troll the subject of this thread will have both accounts permanently banned. I found one already and looking at others.
