Sorry might be unrelated but I know some people here
will know the answer.

What's going rate for cattle lease like this?

1200 acres. central texas Comanche brownwood area?
4 tanks on property
usually plenty of grass as long as we get rain

also fences are old on place but would new fences be
land owner or cattle leasee responsibility? I figure
probably land owner unless the cattle ruin the fences

Thanks

By the head probably a better option unless you set a number of head limit.

I would say 7$ a acre or 14$ a head per month and bulls are 20 a head per month.

I get $15 per head in Kent county. I've heard it getting as high as $20 per head in some areas.

Grazed 100 cows and about 60 calves for 2 months on 160 acres. Grass held up good and not over grazed at all. Probably could have gone another month.

We plan to shred the broom grass and pray for more rain.

Are you looking to lease it out or lease for yourself?

$10 to $15 an acre on native and $15 to $25 per acre on improved grasses in my area. Land owner builds the new fences and the leasee does the up keep.

Also remember the landowner will probably want to limit the number of cattle to prevent overgrazing. They also may require to you to rotate off for some period of time. Just something to look for in your lease. You may or may not agree with potential restrictions. Read your lease carefully or if you are not comfortable doing so find someone that is competent to look it over.

I'd give $10-15/acre for something like that. New fences would be the landowners responsibility. If you don't have a new fence I would just make do with what is already there. I would pay a little extra for newer fencing on property.
