I've wanted a Ruger AAC556k since I was a little kid watching the A-Team. I should have bought one a couple years ago when I had the chance to for $6500 but I didn't and now they are almost double that. So what I want to do is have a gunsmith make me a semi auto version out of a Mini Thirty. Does anyone know a competent Class III manufacture in Texas that could do this for me? Plan on doing an 11" with a Ruger OEM side folding stock.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Your best bet is to do it as a form 1 and then send it off to be cut down and threaded after approval. Total turn around will be shorter than going the form 4 route. The barrel needs to be cut, crowned, and threaded and the gas port is going to have to be opened some. Contact Morgan - dallasshootingsupplies on this forum

I watched the A-Team as a kid. They could never hit anyone with those Rugers.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

They added flash hiders to them with a metal handguard and 30 or 40 round magazines. They used "special" effects to make them sound like they were shooting full auto. If you look at the show, they don't have selector switches on the rear of the receivers. (The guns are even had 18" barrels on them).
