Actually this English Pointer is not old at all. About 5 yrs. But she is skinny as a rail, and eats like a horse. I keep all my dogs Ivomec'ed up, so worms should not be a problem, and see no signs of worms. She has plenty of energy, and seems happy as a lark. I always feed here more than the others, but it just seems to pass thru without sticking. What to do?

Add some cooking oil to her food each day. It can be new or used. They prefer used.

I had that issue with a pup a few years ago. Vet gave her some stuff to help with digesting her food and it worked wonders. In creased that bacteria in her stomach and intestines.

If it isn't white it is not a birddog.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

Thanks for the ideas. I have some canola oil I fried fish in the other day, and have been pouring it over their food occasionally. I'll be more diligent about it with her. I will also mention it to my vet. Thanks.

My best female is about that age and have had problems keeping weight on her since she was a pup. I've tried several things but always go back to two meals a day. In a week or two I can see her gain and when she is about right I go back to once a day. She will hold it for a while then back to the second meal.
