Changing tactics. Skipped the morning hunt and going out noon until dark. Windy here but the two feeders are down lower somewhat out of the heavy wind.

Any of you guys hunt the 10-2 shift?

I've hunted them hours before. I pulled a doe one day at 3pm and a 10 point on a different day at 3ish. Love weird hours and strange weather

If you hunt a lease the best time is to hunt mid day...when everyone is getting down and heading in you should be out hunting...deer are savvy to hunter movements and will pattern you...

While setting up our stand for the evening hunt we came across a mob of 8 doe that were working their way toward our property from neighboring fields. They spooked off of course. Saw two doe in another field, of course the neighbors, all around noon today.

I have been skeptical about mid day hunts. But, last year I tagged a 5 1/2 year old 8 pt walking down a draw at 1:30 pm. This season , I bagged a 4 1/2 yr old 8 pt walking the same draw at 2:15 pm. Im a believer now.

I usually just hunt all day most of the time unless I have prior engagements to attend!!!

I've been seeing a lot of deer in wheat fields around here between 10:30 and noon.

My best buck was shot at 1:30 in the afternoon. And I must admit, I've seen much more midday movement this year on my TCs than any year in recent memory.

We have had good success around 10 AM. My theory is that the deer pattern the truck traffic and the pasture gets real quiet after all the hunters leave at 9-9:30 and the big guys feel safer moving around.

I think they pattern us more than hunters realize....

Would hunt mid-day given the chance, but all my hunting is right at opening weekend. A little different then.

One reason to always be in blind those cams just don't show you everything. I've been in blind and see deer bypass the tc and feeder. Only a visual can really tell you what's happeneing.
