Have a Montana Rifle Company 300 win mag with 24" barrel and 1/10 twist coming soon. I don't reload so any suggestions on maybe 3 brands and bullet weights to try first and see what shoots the best? Another 300 win mag I had shot Federal Vital Shock Accubonds great in 165 gr. so I thought about that one but I'd rather use the 180 grains for hunting. Thanks for the help. Seems like the older I get the more I try to overthink stuff lol.

The 165s are a great compromise for hunting but 150s or 180s should do the job about as well. I'd look for something using Partitions or Accubonds, but tegular cup-n-cores should be sufficient.

I plan on using either Accubonds or SST bullets. I did buy a box of 165gr Hornady GMX factory loads to try out

For Texas white-tails, 150 grain ammo with regular cup and core bullets is just fine.

I see no reason in owning a 300 win mag and not shooting 180s and 200 grain bullets...

This shot gun in a friends:

Should work good:

This was always accurate ammo:

I don't think you can just say "you are just going to shoot a certain load" you might have to try several loads to see what is going to shoot best.

Call Chad with Dallas reloads. I bet he will send you some great ammo that shoots great thru your gun.
I had him send me 100 rounds of 7mm for a factory abolt it shot just over 2" groups at 300yds.
