Just got into hunting within the last year or so and my father in law has been letting me use his Mauser 7mm Mag. I've been looking to get another rifle, a .243 or .270, but wasn't really sure what the advantage/disadvantages would be of one versus the other. My father in law doesnt hunt anymore so the 7mm Mag is pretty much mine to use.
Should I bother looking at a .270/.243 or just keep what Ive got and if so, what are the advantages/disadvantages of each.
Thanks

The only thing the other two have over the 7mm is less recoil.

Thanks I prefer the 7mm Mag for most of North America hunting...love it using 150 grain partitions...270 is real good too....for South TX White-Tails the 243 will put them down with proper shots....if you decide use the 7mm then I would suggest to use a Limbsaver Recoil Pad Slip On, especially if you are an old fart like me...

I am using the 150 grain Super X. What scope do you have on yours? This has a Redfield 2x-7x.
