This is the 3rd buck I've seen with hoof rot this year. One seems to be on the mend, one disappeared, and this guy seems in pretty bad shape.
He still didn't tolerate a spike eating corn in his presence.Sick buck
You can see how difficult it is for him to walk on this one: Bad limp.
I had does filtering through feeder area all morning. Had 5 in front of me and 9 in the field at one point. Does everywhere.
And finally, this coon cracked me up. When I got to my spot this a.m., my popup blind wasn't there. Wind had blown it back about 10 yards, but in the dark I couldn't see it and thus went back to get my harness to get in the tree. This little guy was about to climb the tree I was in when he looked up and saw me looking down. You can see he freaks out, runs, runs straight into my chair (that was under my popup), slams on the brakes and then takes off through the woods. I was hunting a couple of bucks that showed up recently, so I didn't "thin" this guy out. Coon realizes he's in the crosshairs.
Anyhow, no bucks, but pulled the cards and the trio that has the buck I was hunting was there yesterday a.m. I'm running out of time, but there's still a chance!
