I am reloading some 308 in Lake City brass to shoot in my AR10. Should I use the factory crimp die or is a taper crimp good enough?

I have about 200 reloaded LC rounds through a Dpms 308. I have put a light consistent Factory crimp on all of them and they are grouping very well and making critters dead. The key word is consistent.

Which is not very much experience I admit. So take my opinion for what it is worth.

I use the factory crimp on my 223 and 308 autos. I dont crimp for my bolt guns anymore. I like the factory crimp because its easy to adjust.

Proper neck tension is more than sufficient.

Me too, but I've never crimped my bolt gun rounds.
