And another season comes and goes and all I have are under "13 bucks and doe w/ baby that showed 3 days ago.
Feel as if I should just hang it up..... Hell Seasons up on my Bday too every year. And never got myself a wild gift
All I wanted was some dang meat and a first time bow kill.
Hope everyone else has had an AWESOME SEASON

You do realize at this point in the season fawns can survive on their own.. they just hang out with the moms still for social reasons...
Unless you are doe permit only and could not shoot.
But I feel your pain I only got 1 this season, but it was my first deer season ever. I just got a bow so I will be trying the rest of the season with a bow now that I am confidant enough to use it.

Ive missed 3 of the last 5 seasons due to deployments and have only killed 1 deer in the last 3 yrs LOL. It could be worse.

Man I am on a great lease, deer every where and quite a few pigs as well. I've killed 3 of my 5 deer limit but now cannot find a mature buck. They are there. They show up on camera now and then. But never when I'm on stand, bow in hand. And I'm in stand a lot being retired. They have had plenty to eat and don't need my corn. Sometimes that is how it goes. Hope your season improves.

Jtp -- yea, I know they can make it.
No permits 2B2D county
Sapper-- I know where your coming from, my brother is a Sapper unit out of Fort Bragg when he deployed to the Stan. Hes now in Fairbanks the last 3 months.

I hear ya.. I haven't killed 5 deer in the last 5 yrs. With the droughts and fire we've decided not to shoot does and only shoot 5 yo + plus bucks or straight up culls. 90% of it me is the Commodore and just being in the country.

I know how you feel, I have been watching a buck for the past 3 years, 8 point, 9 point and this year is a 10 point and still does not make 13". He is taller than he is wide.
