We have been working on getting some spikes off our lease this season. We have shot 4 so far. This was my second one this year and i got him in Live Oak County. Thought he looked pretty cool.

8 point 152 class if the stories were correct. I didnt want a deer that big anyways so i took him ahead of his prime.

Nice one down. Looks like you shot him with an F-250.

Stxranchman. I did not age him we have been working pretty hard at removing some of the older looking spikes. I still have the head and the jaw i could take a crack at it. I guessed he was 2.5-3.5

Walkabout. no f250 shot him with 308 shooting federal fusion 165 grain but i was 12 feet up in the blind and he was at about 60 yards so kinda a steep angle. Entrence was where i put it but came out more towards his underside so chest didnt fill up with blood it just poured out. He ran about 60 rads and the blood trail was about 8 inches wide and i could follow it from the point of impact all the way to him without taking a step it was great.

just comparison sake with some of the spikes we've shot in Duval this year. he looks to be 2.5 probably a little over 100lbs dressed. if he's anything like ours.

we saw some spikes on camera last year and only every saw one out of the stand to shoot. this year they are showing up so we're taking a few out as well. we've shot 3 so far.
