I have a few of these PEPR mounts for various ARs and recently picked up the SWFA version and I notice the SWFA sits a little lower (about 1/4") and allows a more proper cheek weld. Have others noticed how high the PEPR is? Is the SWFA the same level of Quality? I use "good" mounts for long range ARs but wondering if I should switch them out and go with SWFA on carbines as they fit better for me. Thoughts? What are others using for their standard AR mounts? Thanks.

I use the LaRue and the American Defense mounts
http://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/298/

I put the American Defense 20 MOA base on my AR 6.5 Creedmoor and the mount is perfect for a 44 mm scope. It mounts it low to the picatinny rail. So low that you can't flip the scope cap to where it lays flat on the rail.

Thanks Tye. I also have a LaRue 20 MOA on my 260 AR10 and an American Defense on another but looking for the lower cost options for 556 carbines for shorter ranges out to 300. Any thoughts on those?

I originally bought the PEPR for my 223. I changed it out to a LaRue because of the QD mounting system. i now have 2 scopes (hunting and 1x6 3 gun scope) that a switch between on 1 rifle. The guy that built my creed uses the AD mounts, so that's what I went with.

My PEPR now sits on the shelf with no scope in it. I never had any problems with it though. Now that I have 4 ARs, I might find a use for it.

I don't have any other suggestions. Sorry
