Ok I have a popup blind set up that has been eaten by the stinkin cows, it's still there just torn up. Going to put a new one out tonight after the evening feed so I can bowhunt an old 10 point that has been coming in. If I go in and set it up at 9pm tonight and spray it down with scent killer would it hurt to hunt it in the AM? Like I said there has been one there for over 3 months but the cows have finally got to it and it's kind of collapsed. Thanks for the help guys! The buck I'm chasing, not huge but a huge bodied old buck.

Nice big buck, you bow or gun hunting? If rifle, then you can set up a bit further, cows will find the new blind. They know the place as well as deer and will know when something is "different", plus they already have you dialed in so to speak. If thats all you can do, then only thing to loose is another pop-up maybe. I'd loose a couple for that buck though.

i put one up around lunch on a sunday and my target was 15 20 yards on corn in front of it the next morning, too bad it was the day after deer season ended.
i dont think you will have a problem.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

My first bow buck was shot at 20 yards about 30 min after having driven the truck up to spot and listening to radio while busting limbs to brush in a blind. Not planning on hunting that afternoon but just couldn't stand not to. IMO worst case he doesn't show..

Blind I wanted to hunt the other day was leaning from rain, and filled with hornets. Went to Wal-Mart and bought camo burlap. Drove my four wheeler to where I wanted to hunt and wrapped the four wheeler in the burlap. Sat in a folding chair behind it. Laid my field backpack on the seat for a shooting rest. Took a doe using this setup. Oh, I also set it up 2 hours before I took her.

Living proof of what I've been told, that the best time to hunt a stand is the first time after setting it up.

C-ray did you brush the blind in pretty heavy? How did you deal with the new blind smell? I am in a similiar situation and have a great buck patterned and will be saetting up a ground blind saturday morning and start hunting it staurday night. I have cows on the place so i was thinking of getting a bucket of cow crap and putting in in proximity to my blind setup.

We take our popups down before we leave the lease every time(so the cows or critters dont tear them up) and then set them back up the after we get there to hunt. I always carry the "Fresh Scent" spray and spray it down after we set it up, and then usually hunt from it the next morning/evening.
Great buck, we will be heading back down to the lease tomorrow and hope to get some meat for the freezer. So far we havent had much luck at our new place but we have passed on a few.

Actually I didn't brush it in at all, I sprayed it down with scent killer staked it down climbed in 5 hours later and shanked him! He had nothing but "tail" on his mind, so that prolly helped a lot.

When my son hunted with me, we hunted out of my DB. He either killed a deer the same day I put it up or the very next day. Never brushed it in except on one hunt and I think that was a big mistake. So I no longer will spend the time or energy to do that again.

I never leave my pop up unattended I carry it out and set up under a tree or something with a backdrop behind it and have killed and had chances to kill from it. The reason I don't leave my PPP up is be cause I have a Cabelas Lightning Set its so simple to set up and take down jist stand in the door way and pull the string I hate the other blinds that are supposed to do easy they don't come close but I don't think they make the Lightning Set anymore so I want it to last as long as possible.
