Savage model 11 with blind center feed mag, heavy varmint barrel, and when trying to mount scope I find myself too far in regards to cheek weld and eye relief. Image rifle has factory stock and I am thinking I need to do two things, first decrease the length of pull about 2-3 inches and raise the cheek weld about the same.

Have looked at aftermarket stocks and chassis' and have found some ideas that would work but I don't want to spend the 6-900 price tag (that's 2-3x the price of the original gun) if I don't have to. The LSS and TAC21 chassis' would work great but they are just a little pricier than I want to spend, but would consider something like that if that's the best option for my needs.

Interested in ideas (is it even possible) to either modify or replace stock to make this work with the scope. Let me hear what you have done or seen in the past.

Thanks in advance for any options!

Contact Stockadegunstocks.com

They build nice Savage stocks at a great price. I have one and it is very well built.

To raise the cheekweld get a $45 stock pack from Triad Tactical and build up between pack and stock until you like it. They send spacer strips for this very reason.

Synthetic or wood stock?

Sorry, I meant currently. If it's a wood stock the LoP would be easy to fix by cutting the stock down, and you could add a stock pack to raise the cheek weld. Harder to do with synthetic.

Sorry, it is a synthetic stock now. Pretty sure it is hollow in the butt as well. It is on a 22-250 so don't need a lot of mass but don't know if there is any way to cut down what appears to be a hollow butt.

Verticle band saw. Trouble will be reaffixing the recoil pad. You may cut away the screw purchase.

Could always glue it back, or switch to a slip on recoil pad.
