Probably a 3-9x, 3.5-10, or maybe a 4-12x. Spend as much as you can afford and don't go cheap on bases and rings. I like Leupold, but that's not the only game in town. Just don't go the Simmons or Barska route. A-Bolts are decent rifles and deserve a decent scope.

You could do alot worse than having the Leupold custom shop install a tmr reticle in a vx3 2.5-8. Zero wind at 100, zero the elevation at 300, cap the turrets, and put that tmr reticle to good use.

This is how I put my trijicon and sightron 3-9 mildots to good use. It's quite effective.

My current 7mmRM, a stainless Rem 700 in a B&C Ti stock, wears a 4.5x14x40 Leupold. It is accurate with most any bullet you feed it and has been a very lucky rifle for me with quite a large number of trophies to its credit.
