I've had my turkey fan, wings, legs and beard sitting in Borax for about 2 weeks now.
How do you know when it's dried enough to remove and do the mount?

I try and dust off most of the original Borax and cover the fleshy areas with fresh Borax one more time for a few days. If you don't see any clumps in the new Borax after a few days were it has drawn out moisture, then your good to go

legs will take longest. beard and fan depend on how thoroughly fleshed and defatted they were.
