I've started my build of my .300blk which I will pair with my ATN X-Sight. I'm filing all the paperwork to make it SBR, and eventually put a suppressor on it. Should be a pretty sweet gun once I'm done. I started with an Aero Precision stripped lower, and added a Rock River lower parts kit. It will completed with magpul furniture, and barrel of my choice once I get all the paperwork finalized. Any suggestions on barrels? I've got a while before I can purchase my barrel, but currently leaning towards something in the 10 1/2 - 12 inch range.

I'd get a 8" Rainier select match barrel. No need for the extra 2 inches of barrel for the 10" barrel. The round was made for short barrels. I have all the parts to build one in my rainier wish list. I already have the 30cal suppressor so my parts would be a little different than yours since I want the 8" barrel and a 10" rail with the suppressor under the rail. So with a 8" barrel and 6" added from suppressor it's only 14" overall barrel. About as short as you can make it without going integral suppressed barrel.

Yep in blackout shorter is fine. I've been very pleased with mine. It's an 8.2" Noveske.

If you are waiting for the stamp, that will only take about 30 days if e-filed. Finish the paperwork and send it in. And go ahead and find the barrel now. Short barrels were out of stock most places last time I looked.

I love my Noveske 8.2" 300blk SBR, especially suppressed. You lose some velocity vs. a 16" barrel, but I haven't noticed much difference between my SBR and the 16".

Thanks for the input guys. I should be e-filing by Monday. Meeting my trustees at the bank Saturday to get everything notarized. Time to start a barrel search!

Anybody have any reviews or use with the Mas Defense melonite barrels? Seem to have very good reviews, and they are relative cheap compared to Noveske and Rainier, and they are in stock!

I'm going for cheap build with the money going into the optics and trigger. not sure how much I want to spend on the barrel in that case, pretty sure they all shoot straighter than I do.
