Been a tough one this year, haven't seen many deer at all. Had cameras up since September on trails they are usually on, only a handful coming to the feeders. Had tough seasons there before, but nothing like this.

Same here. Five miles out if Throckmorton. I had deer on web cam until rifle opener and then POOF! I have seen maybe two deer at feeder since, about a gazillion hogs, and now the dang cows are cleaning up around my feeder. Looks like it's over for me this year. Fence my feeder and camera and start over for next year. That's why we call it 'hunting'.

I feel better knowing it's a state wide phenomenon
I used to hunt in Haskell and Throckmorton/Seymour always had abundant deer this is the first time since 2010 that I hear otherwise

Same here in Knox County. I have yet to see a deer on our place this season while hunting. Have quite a few on game cam at night. Neighbors around me aren't seeing much more than that.

I'm in Stephens County, and its been slow here too. I've seen 18 deer in 22 morning or evening sits. Obviously, some of these deer I've seen multiple times, so I haven't seen 18 different deer. On at least half my hunts I haven't seen a single deer. I've actually seen more deer than most of the other guys on my lease, and the neighbors said they aren't seeing much either. I've only experienced one season that was this slow and that was 5 to 7 years ago in the hill country during one of the worst drought years we had down there. I doubt it'll happen but maybe the last few weeks things will pick up for us.

It's the same all over. Full moon, warm weather, ruts over. Concentrate on food plots (if you've got them) deer are holding tight right now.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

Have my property in Dickens county since 2010. Always saw deer at feeders throughout bow and gun season. Not many shooters but always deer to keep us alert!!! I retired last year so This year I hunted all of bow daily and most of gun. Early this year I saw about 5 different does and 1 4 point and this was rare not daily. Most of gun we haven't seen anything at feeders and when we do see deer they are way off. Worst season in 4 years on our place.

I used to hunt in Haskell and Throckmorton/Seymour always had abundant deer There are still lots of deer. The problem is for the past three seasons the shooters do not come to the feeders during the day. The days of sitting in a box and waiting for the deer to come to us may be over.
