I just wanted to give a shout out to dav42070. Back In the summer he gave my 13yo son a wood lathe that he had listed in the classifieds. Fisher plans on putting duck commander out of business with his new call business! He has started with barrels and he's working his way towards inserts. Just using echo poly inserts for now.

Thanks a ton Sir! This call will be in the mail for you tomorrow. I can't thank you enough.

You cant even imagine how kewl I think it is seeing the next generation learning an art form involving our sport. I am west of Houston by 45 miles. If you are near you two are welcome to any assistance I may lend. The inserts are tricky to start off.

I bought a 5\8 poplar dowel rod. I cut it into a bunch of 4 inch pieces. I just used those pieces while teaching myself how to make the inserts. Thst way yu dont waste time and money turning insert pieces. I spent 14 hours trying to get lined ot
out. Take notes for each and every piece you work.

That dav4207 is a pretty cool guy, we did a deal on some decoys a while back and he is top notch.

Just noticed this thread, that call his son made sounds awesome. I feel the same as wall, anytime we can help the younger generation appreciate the outdoors we should encourage.

Props to Fisher, James and dav42070.

Fisher for the drive and desire, dad for guidance and dav42070 for the means.

Tell Fisher to put me on the list for a call. I also have some nice Bois' D'arc trees we can cut that should make him enough material to make a few hundred calls. I will get a quote from the place in Bowie about drying the wood and I'll even spring for it to help him out.
