Alright I have the other thread about flying but that parts over so here's one for the hunting part. Don't expect much as Im mostly starting this out of pure boredom because sitting for hours in the hard woods watching it rain will make you brain tired.

The plan is hunt here in Ohio until Friday then drive around the southern end of Lake Erie over to Detroit and go to "The Joe" for a Red Wings game, for non hockey fans the Joe is Joe Lewis arena, then drive five hours northwest to the banks of Lake Michigan where I hope it's colder and the deer are easy to hunt in two foot of snow.

I got to Cleveland last night and had a 1 hour ride to the house. Woke this morning to heavy rain and 40 degrees, I was hoping for heavy snow and 30 degrees. It's been raining all day and no deer movement.

This is a "urban" hunt by Texas standards my stand this morning was on 10 acres but this afternoon I moved up to the big ranch boys, we sitting on 14 acres of prime Ohio hardwoods.

Don't plan on seeing monster deer on this thread cause I shoot legal deer no matter the size but yes there are some giants here.

Here's this mornings views.

Afternoon view. It's just off of a major highway, I feel like I'm sitting in traffic.

Here's a couple deer hunting phrases you may not be familiar with.

"Try to time your draw with the noise of the 18 wheelers so the deer don't hear it. "

"Most times they come from here but will walk around from the neighbors back yard passed his house too so be ready"

I've never hunted there, but have been quite a bit for business. There are a lot of nice deer up there. Which direction out of Cleveland are you?

Between Cleveland and Youngstown.

Bad pic but it's dark and raining but you get the idea.

That's definitely not a hill country doe. It looks like a horse.

Back in the same stand as yesterday afternoon. There's a decent buck pretty steady here in mornings. The cool thing about Ohio is I can kill six deer but I can buy tags one at a time so after I killed last night I just go on line pay another $24 and I'm ready again.

Wow! I would love to shoot a deer that body size. Any guess as to live weight?

Hey our place is right off I-10 and I have told many hunters to time your steps, draw and movement with the sounds of the highway.

Better look at the doe. We didn't weigh her but I guessed 170 they said between that and 180 on the hoove.

Thanks man glad you like em. Made a big bait pile earlier in a nice little thicket and the snow started back up so I'm feeling good about tonight.

Here's a new one, I got in the stand and my instructions were this, "listen close for the little dog to start barking to the right he will let you know the deer are comming he barks at em along the fence."

10-4 boss tell that home owner open his blinds so I can see the TV.
