I just received a new Tikka T3 Lite in 308 Winchester as a birthday gift. I am really excited about this gun as I have heard great things about their accuracy right out of the box. I am looking at putting a Leupold VX-3 4.5x14 scope on it. Does anyone have a review of this scope?
Also is the barrel wide enough to be threaded for suppressor?

I have that scope with the AO, B&C reticle with a 1" tube. It has more than sufficiently met my needs for my 30-06 for a few years now. I highly recommend Talley rings here. Probably not my scope of choice given the budget any more.
I doubt your barrel has enough wall a the ends to thread.

Its a great scope and I doubt you'll ever be dissatisfied with it unless you make the mistake of looking through a high end Swarovski or something. Don't mount it with cheap rings and bases. Avoid windage adjustable bases!

You can just use the Tikka rings that come with the rifle. You don't need a base, the receiver is grooved...

On another level...Cabella's Home Page has Burris 4.5-14x44 FF II's marked down in the Bargain Cave to $299, and Burris has a $100 Rebate ( check in the Mail $$'s & not a gift card according to the Burris Home Page) on that scope for purchases made before 12/31/14...making the net price come in at approx $200 bux. See the Burris HP for details. Ron

Ok so I got a little excited at the store earlier and couldn't wait for the Leupold. I ended up getting a Zeiss Terra 4-12x42 with the RZ8 reticle

I am running the Talley Lightweight rings on my Tikka T3 Lite .308 with a Leupold VX-R 3-9x40. Very happy with them so far, although it sounds like you want a bit more magnification than that. Holding zero so far and have shot some good 100 yard groups with them.

I exchanged the Ziess and went with the Leupold 4.5-14x40 with the CDS dials. I felt like the dial system would give me better performance than the RZ8 reticle
