Traded a Savage Axis 22-250 I had for a golf cart, supposed to run but needed batteries. Decided it needed a little lift so I bought a $70 kit off Ebay and got 5". I noticed the tires off my out of service 4 wheeler looked close and danged if they didn't fit. Found an old deer rack off of one of our Jeeps at our place in Terrell county, cut it a bit and mounted it. Got some batteries, slapped em' in, runs great. i am going to leave it at our place in Bowie to stealth around in.

Nathan, I wasn't 100% sure this thing would run, I wasn't even 50% sure it would. I actually bought a set of reconditioned batts for $200 just so I didn't have to invest $700 and find out motor was no good etc. They are Interstates and load test great

Thanks for the info! I got my cart this summer and the batteries hold enough charge for me to run it for about 10 minutes, lol. Mine looks almost exactly like your after picture.

Thaty'll work for sure. Feels good NOT to buy a 20k UTV! Need a descent sized solar panel to mount on the roof and keep those batteries charged!

Being the skinflint I am, that has crossed my mind. Wonder if it would be one big one or an array? I have also seen some solar "mats"

Be careful, they are way too much fun to monkey with and modify. Good job on a budget build.

Thanks guys. I think it will be great for easing around our place. It's amazing how easy these things are to modify
