Good luck Bob. I'm not far away from Cisco. Just scanned my neighbor's wheat field with a spotlight and saw 4 deer. If they follow the usual pattern they'll be gone by shooting light. Coyotes are sounding off right now.

I'm next door on Callahan county and it has been a very slow year. Hoping that it changes soon.

Lots of activity this evening, though nothing I'm interested in dropping the hammer on. They waited until LAST light to start showing up, then they started arriving in two's and threes. Turned into a swingin' shindig, young bucks chasing all the does in circles and the does were playin' along.

Oh well.

Got a 900ac lease in Eastland off HWY16 and its a desert out there. I haven't seen a deer, bumped a deer. I've been all over the place and nothing! No buck rubs, no scraped, no tracks. I even climbed the mountains and glassed the flats etc.. NOTHING!!

The guy who is running the lease, after asking him, he has never seen a deer in two seasons. Says he has game cam pix of a deer but never seen one in person.

I've learned my lesson on Eastland!!

If I only had to hunt Eastland County,,,, I'd quit

Eastland has had allot of hunting pressure for as long as I can remember, I heard it was shot out back in the 80's IDK. Being close to the metro mess has it's disadvantages I suppose. I have also seen some nice deer reportedly come out of there too, so,, go figure.

I was going to mention that, but only know of the ones off of 20 that have been there for some time, is it the same throughout the county?

Yep, more are starting to show up. We fenced ours in 1995. There were tons of deer and no age on bucks. I'm close to Ranger. I've known of a few that hunted north of Ranger and the deer sightings were limited. I think it all depends on what part of the county you hunt in.

I hunt Eastland, see nice bucks on cams mostly at night or when I m not there

We jumped a deer last week heading to pond to hunt duck

There's a nice high fence to the west , I think it's 20,000 acres with landing strip:
Canyon Ranch

Saw a bunch of his antelopes by fence on way in one day, hell of a place

This country have mostly nocturnal deer and hogs,,tough hunting but I prefer this
Over hill country's easy harvest

We are in cisco. First deer of the year was taken Thursday morning. I have seen less and less deer as the season has gone along. I'm lucky to see one deer a weekend at this point. Two of our hunters have yet to see a deer this season. Not sure what the deal is. Heck the hogs have even started to disappear.

I had a group of 20+ coming in every night up until this weekend. No telling what they are up to now.

Hogs disappeared on our place a few months ago. Seems they come and go as they please. I took a few friends out after Thanksgiving to shoot some does. We didn't see any to shoot. All we saw were young bucks and a few mature ones. We took out a cull though

I'm north of Cisco and not seeing a lot. Seeing lots on the cameras but not during hunting hours. My buddy took a nice one opening morning but since then, only seeing young does.
