I grew up hunting west Texas mulies and central Texas whitetails with my dad. Growing up in Brady I was always hunting something or fishing. One of the things we didn't do and didn't even know anybody that did was hunt ducks.

I took my dad on his first duck hunt this morning. It was a lot of fun and he got a canvasback and I've never even shot a canvasback. I had just finished picking up all the decoys and standing on the bank when a group of mallards flew over and hauled butt.

My dad

I've been bagging some nice gadwalls lately

This is the third hunt I've posted since the split. All of them took place in the HPMMU. We have places in both units.

No it was not plumed at all and was pretty shot up. Plus he couldn't tell you the difference between a can and ringer...haha

I've got 3 in the freezer that are in the running though. I'm going to pick one at the end of the season. Maybe I'll put up THF poll.
