I bought a set of used Lee reloading dies at a gun show this weekend. They are for my .223 Remingtons. One of the resizing dies is marked "B2" and the other one is marked "H2." There were no instructions with the die set, and I have no idea what these markings mean. I checked the Lee website but had no luck in finding the answer.

I got this from Lee Product Support:

The Letter/Number stampings on our reloading dies are an internal manufacturing date code telling us when we made the dies. The Letter represents a month and the number represents the year, starting in 2000. For example A6 = January 2006, B6 = February 2006, etc. In years that have the same last number, such as "0", it could represent either 2000 or 2010.
Depending on what the die looks like, I can tell you which sizing die is which. If the die that has a hexagonal nut on the top it is the Full Length Sizing Die; if it has a knurled nut that is flush with the die body, it is a Collet Neck Sizing Die.
Once you confirm what type of die(s) you have, and how many total dies are in the set, I can send you the instructions at no charge.

So, it looks like the dies were made in Feb and August of '02. I sent them pictures of the dies and I just got an email stating that they are sending me instructions. Excellent customer service!!

Most of my stuff is Lee because of their price, Customer Service, and design. Same goes for the RCBS minus the price part. Thanks for the info, I like to know stuff like that....wondered what the stamps meant too when I got my .32-20 dies out for the first time yesterday.
