I would say so. He'll be fine, and if he's not, then you can put him down next year.

I have seen bucks like this before, one side of their antler is broken off from the base from fighting and the antler is hanging on by a piece of skin. Looks crazy when they run, the antler flops all over the place.
Born to hunt and fish.

This one doesn't flop around at all. In fact, I've seen him in a brawl with a young six point. That thing is in tact and not moving. My son and I got within twenty yards of him thanksgiving weekend. Walking thru the woods on a windy day we spooked him up

One year I had a small 8 point that his right side was pushed down in front of his eye. Never seen him again in the years to follow. I suppose that he bumped the horns when they were still soft. Just a theory.

He broke it this year after he shed velvet from the looks of it. Looks like he broke the skull from where the burr is sitting. Will be interesting to see where that burr ends up and how it affects next year's growth.

Thanks for the input guys. We will see what next year brings for him. Another ? ....would you have to use your one good buck tag if one did take him...being that it's an AR county and he's branched on both sides? Or does the AR situation make him off limits?
