Is there something that I am missing with gun dog breeders/trainers? Do they not like to respond to voicemails and emails? Rarely do they return my first phone call and only one has responded to an email. I am not asking anything crazy and I usually give them 48 hours to respond before I try and contact them again. (I think that should be plenty of time without being "crazy", no??)

Why would I want to send my dog to training or buy a puppy from someone that will not communicate with me beforehand? Will they return my calls or questions during training or after training?? My gut feeling would be "no." I realize we are all busy but sheesh... The latest instance was with Cross Creek. They had a litter listed on their website due to whelp on Dec 8th or something. So, I contacted them via email and calling to inquire about the litter. They never responded. I went to their website today and they took the litter off the website. So...point being, they got my email and realized "oh dang, we need to change the website"....so...they had the time to update their website but not to just shoot me an email and say "oh the litter didn't take" or "oh sorry, sold out." or whatever? is that too much to ask?

I guess I would think if they were trying to build a wonderful business that they would return calls and emails. That's what I do in my business. Just my random thoughts for the day. Have a great day everyone!

The same can be said for a lot of different types of people. I never understood it either. Someone who am trying to give me money too will not respond. I know when an trying to sell something am pretty quick respond.

It doesn't work that way with all of them. We use Tioga and I typically get responses back on the same day, next day at the latest. They've always responded promptly, even with my initial questions about possibly getting a puppy.

Very true words! It's weird when you want to buy something from someone (and they don't even have to pitch their services) and you can't get them to respond. Dealt with that with HVAC people recently too.

Definitely not all of them! Tioga has come highly recommended by several peers and have talked with Angie on a couple of occasions. However, some of the others that came recommended that I have tried to contact won't call me back... That actually reminds me of times I have referred landscapers or painters and other services to friends and then the friends call them and the person or business won't call them back. I hate when I refer a business to a friend and then my friend has a bad experience with non-responsive business owners... Helloooo?? you had an easy sale...

Dog trainers are not necessarily good business people. To me the phone ringing and or an email is the "sound of money."

We get right on it. Thanks everyone!!!
