Hey everyone,

I have a question about shoot through windows on pop up blinds. Does anyone actually shoot through the windows or do you remove the windows for a clear shot? Also, can you shoot through with any weapon - bow, rifle, muzzleloader, etc. Honestly, I'm not real comfortable shooting through with any of them, but thought I'd get some opinions.

Thanks,

Keith

Why???
If your gonna use a bow, just shoot one with your set up at a target and see. What is good for one may not be for the other.
If you are using a rifle, yes you can. Will leave a BIG hole in it though.

Fixed blade and rifle I believe I what they are made for. But mine have reinforced circle holes to shoot through. Don't wait to remove it when a deer is in the area they aren't fond of peeling Velcro that can be heard 1/4 mile away

Ive heard that if you don't stick the barrel out of a window on those popup blinds that you'll likely blow your eardrums out. Ive never tested the theory, but just something to think about...

IMO, fixed-blade only, certainly not mechanical or rifle.

Not true. I've shot 3 shots out of mine with the barrel inside.

I just poked a hole in the screen with my knife, no problem, another custom shooting port.

Why would a pop-up be any louder shooting a rifle if the barrel is out the window? My son shot two back to back in ours 2 weeks ago with his 30.06, rifle shot is a rifle shot outdoors.

I use pop up blinds and have shot through the mesh windows with no issues. Depending on the setup, I sometimes just remove the mesh. I put a pop up blind on top of a platform this year so I didn't need the mesh at all

I really wanted to do that this year. Just ran out of time. I did good to get my pop up set up a month before season started.

We gave a guy on my lease a lot of grief for shooting a hole through his mesh window at a deer. He missed which is too bad because if he shot that dude, which was supposedly a stud, we would've all been shooting holes through our popups. I think you brush up your blind a little so that when you remove the windows, you're still hidden a little.

I have shot my bow through mesh with mechanical rage broad heads with no issues.

I have shot my fixed blade broadheads at a target prior to season just to see and they were thrown off by over 4-6" I just peel down the few windows I plan to shoot out of and leave the rest up.

Hunted on a lease a few years back and one of the guys shot a hog through the mesh screen window in his pop up with his rifle. It was an older stand and the mesh was sort of frazzled so the muzzle flash set the mesh on fire. I would have loved to have been there to see that show.
