Swaro Fan - what are you putting it on

All I do with my rifles is hunt and shoot at the range, no long distance shooting or anything like that and I prefer a basic scope with no fancy turrets or anything like that. I have two of the models you're asking about and really like them. They gather light really well and there's a noticeable difference between these and the Zeiss I have. This model also gathers more light than the Swaro Binos that I use. For the price I don't think you can beat it, PM me and I'll share where I bought mine if you're interested.

Either a 6.5 Creedmoor I am having built by Horizon or my do all 308.

I run the same scope on my 257wby. I get annoyed when a I grab one of my non- swaro scoped rifles

If you are going to long range shoot tgen I'd look elsewhere. If just sight in then leave you'll be fine.

I love mine. Like others said above, it gathers light like crazy.

For a hunting scope, it's fine. Meaning, if you plan to sight it in and leave it there with no dialing of the turrets, it will be fine.

But, if you get the Swarovski with plans to dial your elevation with the cheesy color coded tabs, I'd look else where. We have broken 2 Swarovski scopes when dialing. Sure, their glass is great, but it does you no good of you can't get it to shoot straight. I am not a fan of the Swarovski scopes because if the internal issues.

I agree with the above comments. If you are going to shoot long range and need to REALLY spin your elevation knob, I would double your budget and get a Nightforce NXS WITH Zero Stop. Period

Now if you are a typical hunter, the Swarovski Z-3 would be great as would a Zeiss, Leopold, etc, in your price range.

I own and love all the above. I have two Z-5's with the Ballistic Turrets. I really can't confirm whether they hold up to constant "spinning" as I haven't "worked" them out yet. Just held and shot. My NightForce on the other hand with the Zero Stop, will Twist till the cows come home, ONLY problem with the NXS is the weight, most rifles these go on, another pound doesn't matter. A true
hunting" rifle 7-8lbs it might.

As far as GLASS, the Swaro's are great!! These are only my opinions, I'm not near the rifleman JG and Chard are, these are just my opinions

It's very difficult for me to hunt with a 15 lb + rifle....and I own two of them and the only way I could hunt with either is out of a stand with a good rest. So there definitely is a place for a good hunting rifle with a hunting scope and Swaro is a great hunting scope. For a hunting rifle, glass is first consideration. I hear a lot about how poor the Zeiss and Swaro's mechanics are but I'll say it again...for $1,000.00 something's got to give! You can't have great, or at least very good, glass and mechanics at this price! The Turrents on Swaro and Zeiss aren't built for target shooting where you are turning them constantly and fast, not at this price. What you get from them is great glass and for a hunting rig I'm putting a Zeiss or Swaro on top. Target rifle gets mechanics first, glass second
