Morning,

I've recently bought a Sig Sauer Mosquito.
It was a good deal at the local pawn shop.

I've wanted a .22LR for recreational shooting.

I'm looking for .22LR ammo in bulk for target shooting.

Can anyone suggest where I should look?
The "2 box limit" at Academy won't suit well, as I can go through the hundred rounds really quick.

CDNN is selling bricks. It's mail order, but no biggie.

Better talk to the Sig guys, Heard, read and have a friend that has one. All say they are really really picky about what will work in them, Hate to see you have 1000 rds of stuff that won't feed.

If you have the option, pick higher-powered rounds. Fed Auto-Match, CCI MiniMag, etc, as they tend to function better in semis.

Not saying others won't work, just that when there are problems, switching out the ammo tends to fix them right up.

Thanks again for yalls input.

I went to Carter's Country and asked if they had the Remington 'Bucket of Bullets'.
Although they didn't, they had these boxes of 325 rounds from Federal Premium at around $22 each.

I bought 2 of them and spent 3 hours at the gun range and didn't even finish 1 box.
I probably have 50 rounds or so left.
Great ammo, good kick, very little recoil, the cycling went pretty good.

I also had these Aguila "No Gunpowder" rounds that I got from Academy.

Unless you're using a revolver or bolt-action, do not use them on a semi-auto.
The first round fires, but there's not enough kick to feed.

Those Aguilas work great in a Single Six at less than 50'.

Pass the gravy.

This isn't a plug, but when I lived back east I was a able to buy up bricks of Norma TAC-22 at reasonable prices at an outfit in Clarksville, TN. HAZMAT fees stink but if your looking for SS .22LR it's good stuff. My Ruger 22/45 eats a steady diet of it and no problems.
