Kobus you have to learn to enjoy each animal for itself. If you want to compare everything to whitetail just hunt whitetail.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

in my experience when I was hunting WT I couldn't take a piss with out running off 10-15 Nilgai, and when I was hunting Nilgai mostly all I saw was the arses running off 400yrds away..... terribly frustrating but a thrill none the less

I found them to be way more shy than a whitetail and they also figured out that they were being hunted pretty fast.

Not really comparable.

If you are chasing Nilgai that have been hunted they will be harder to hunt than WT. They seem to be more "switched on" in general. They don't really come to feed so can't sit in a stand like WT. They will come to water so some bowhunt them that way.

Overall, they can be tricky to hunt as they have excellent vision and a great sense of smell and hearing. The guys down south used to say a Nilgai is like a WT with a wild turkey riding on it's back. If they do bust you, they will generally take off running in a straight line and won't stop until they've put some good distance between you.

Took me a while to learn to hunt them spot and stake. But, if you can approach with the wind in your face and the sun at your back you can get opportunities.

Is it really that much of a gap in terms of wildness and elusiveness?
