Just curious if anyone on here has tried using the Ozonics ozone generator? i have heard good things about it. Are they worth the money?

We never killed anything before automatic feeders, game cams, $1000 scopes, heated blinds, UTV's 3/4 ton 4x4 pickups, silencers, etc.. bang

As far as the OP, I don't believe in it but have not personally used one my self. None of the "believers" will give my test a try, so until then, I will speak against it grin

Thought Redsnake was going to take me up on it one time, but he backed out grin

I've been busted with it and without it hunting out of ground "tent" blinds while bow hunting.

My buddy hunts out of the same blinds, doesn't use one and is rarely busted. He is meticulous about scent control and uses sage found around the lease squished up in a big plastic jar for cover scent. Opens the lid and bam. He calls it his "sage bomb". It does smell strong.

My experience is pretty limited because I usually forget to bring it along. I wouldn't buy a replacement if I lost mine or it broke.

Science says no. Science also says that the amount of ozone needed to kill human bacteria IE scent, would also kill said human.

Read an article about this. Same thing tShawnB said. The amount of ozone needed for this to be possible would be dangerous to humans. I really need to invent something to sell on infomercials. I could be get rich really fast of some people.

I've been using mine out of a pup up and haven't had good results. But the wind swirls bad where I'm located so I can't really give a good testimony. If I don't see a positive result from it soon I will quit using it. I don't like the sound of the fan running and I'm afraid the mounting clamp is going to tear my pop up fabric.

Bought one last year and used it a lot this year in a popup. So far I have not been able to determine if it helps. I have fiddeled with it in a lot of positions but if the wind changes directions or swirls as it tends to do in the woods, it is hard to maintain the positioning of the unit, with the correct window reccommended for it to work. That being said, right now, I am not confident it was worth the price.

I will see if I can find it and post it. It has been posted here before. It is a pretty detailed scientific study on Ozone generators in general. The one we speak of is just for hunting of course and very small in comparison, however, different types are sold or used for different applications and basically none of them work as advertised. The study to determine the levels of Ozone generation necessary to eliminate human bacteria were at levels potentially deadly to humans AND they had to be done in a controlled environment which also puts a damper on Ozonics as you are using it in an environment that is hostile to its application IF it did work IE wind, dirt, pollen and other bacteria's besides the human bacteria you are attempting to eliminate. Hey, if they worked I would have bought one, but I learned from early on in my hunting adventures that 90% of the crap they are trying to sell us is well, just crap used to finance someone else's hunting adventures at my (our) expense.

Interesting read....

There are stands on the lease I hunt that the ranch manager will not allow anyone to hunt without an Ozonics unit. Does it cover up human oder? No, but it may mask it just enough or confuse a deer just long enough to allow those critical extra seconds or 3 more steps you need a deer to take to be in a shooting lane. I do not have an Ozonics nor have I used one, but I will say that the hunters I know that use them swear by their effectiveness. Much like the Hydrowave in bass fishing, seems those that do not have one are overly critical of the unit.... meanwhile you only see a few reports here and there from actual Ozonics owners complaining about them being ineffective and they have sold tens of thousands of units nationwide.
