As the header says, I have a Franchi model 48 AL 20 guage automatic, ventilated rib shotgun for sale. This shotgun was purchased in Italy in the mid '60s (not sure of the exact year). Serial number is 79809. I called Franchi USA to obtain the manufacture date and all the man could say was, "That's an old one". He could not give a date as their records only go back to the point that Benelli began importing Franchi guns. I have been unable to determine if this is the "Extralight" or "Extralight Magnum".
The pictures show wear and scratches on the left side of the receiver and and a few blueing issues, mostly from use, but the wood is in great shape. This is the lightest shotgun I have ever seen. It hasn't been weighed but I bet the weight is no more than 2-3 pounds. The gun comes with the original manual that show it is a 1965 edition. Asking price is $900.00

Didn't figure you'd want my '69 Camaro anyway. No problem. I have an identical 12. That 20 would be a nice match but might have to put it on the back burner with Christmas presents to be bought. Might still yell at you on it.

had a franchi as my first semi auto back in the 60's, had a ring you had to flip in the magazine to go with magnums. did not flip the ring one day dove hunting and something happened internally that turned it full auto, pull the trigger and anything in the mag was gonna go boom, scared the bejeezus out of me the first time it happened.
